DMV, The Saga

So, for those keeping score I threatened to go to the DMV last week with my entire identity in one hand and a latte in the other. I did! Twice!

I went to the one in Boulder first. You might know Boulder more commonly as home to University of Colorado the fighting Buffaloes. You know, the school with its largest incoming freshman class ever. I took a number. It was crowded, but whatever – these are highly skilled government workers here. I overheard the numbered-ticket-giver guy tell someone it would be “at least an hour, school’s back in session.” So, I left. The next day I attempted the one in my smallish bedroom community. I drove up 10 minutes before it opened and there were 15 people in line. I left.

So, in the end. My name is still wrong. I am not properly registered to vote. This must be remedied soon. If Obama loses Colorado it’ll be ALL MY FAULT.

I really, really wish I could say I am surprised but alas, I am not. I am sorry that your saga continues, though.

I’ve been divorced since 2005 and still haven’t gotten my maiden name back because I simply cannot deal with the hassle with the state and the DMV. And of course I’m hoping to only change it once – assuming the S.O decides to make me an honest woman. But with my luck, I’ll change it back then will want to change it to his.

You must get this sorted out. Obama must win CO and I would hate to think that it would be all your fault! We New Englanders are unforgiving. I would never read you again.

Wow. That really sucks. Hope the latte was good. I’ve got to echo Halimah on this one: you cannot let our boyfriend lose! You must stick it to the nutty CO Right!

Fortunately, there is nothing that could happen, aside from him not being officially on the ticket, that could keep our boyfriend from winning New York. (Ummm, yeah, thanks, New York City, for that one.)

Hey Cat. When I got my South Dakota license last year, I went over to the DMV (halfway across town, a 10 minute drive) around midday I think. There was nobody in line. I left maybe 10-15 minutes later with a correct driver’s license. Oh, and registering both cars this year is going to cost about $90.

I don’t know if this is bragging or rubbing your face in it or just generally rude – take it as you will.
